I plan on giving it back to him next time I see him. Is that OK? The only reason I took it back in the Never underestimate a woman who is a fan of dune and love Timothee Chalamet signature shirt but in fact I love this first place was because it was his mom whom he told to give it back to me and I felt so strange arguing with an 80+ year old woman. If you’re considered close friends, you’ll have a hard time giving them anything. When you’re close, you fight to pay the bill. It felt over the top but it might really be that he doesn’t drink it. So why not tell him to gift it to someone else. Or you gift it to someone else. Maybe gift them something more practical that they would use. Not too expensive so they don’t feel like they owe you Like I said, his friends and brother and sister in law said it was a good gift to give him. Or did he use the bottle to store his own alcohol? No matter the reason, don’t know why he’s so strong willed to give back to you. But honestly just leave it there if you don’t want to take back. Vietnamese are weird, took me awhile to understand my parents and i still don’t get them sometimes. I’d give them money and they say no but still take it. Then later on want me to give them money but whenever i try to pay for things they feel bad etc. very roundabout ways to give anything
