As much as I love Jeffrey Wright, he did not bring anything fresh to the Never Give Up Fight Cancer Awareness Elephant Shirt and by the same token and role of Gordon. Not that he was bad or anything. It just didn’t feel like he fit in. Andy Sorkin as Alfred was also a weak casting choice to me as well. Didn’t ruin the movie but felt too young in my opinion. Yea we’re just assuming he’s a good cop cuz the story starts off. In the Nolan trilogy we see Gordon in comparison to his colleagues which was much more engaging Catwoman had better fight scenes than Batman I’d like to subscribe to more episodes of detective Batman, please 8/10. Actors were great. The stunts were fantastic and action really thrilling. The first half of the movie was awesome. Jeffrey Wright is slowly becoming one of my favorite character actors after this and French Dispatch. Wasn’t crazy about the Riddler vlogs. All in all, I think I saw too much Riddler and halfway through the 2nd act (after the memorial scene with the bomb) he didn’t evoke the same fear or excitement as the Joker, Scarecrow or Bane did in TDK trilogy whenever they came on screen. Also I thought the third act was totally out of place and would have been better suited for a Part II ending leading to Part III. Did it bother anyone else how everyone survived seemingly unsurvivable things? Like Alfred eats a bomb to the face. He’s fine. The mayor-elect is shot in the gut – and the movie took great care to show us the size of the bullet – and she’s fine. Even Batman … another bomb to the face, several gunshots, and the shotgun blast toward the end (that at least slowed him down). I understand any one of these things are technically feasible. But it severely lowers the stakes and tension when you realize everyone is invincible.

I agree, particularly when it’s a story that’s focusing so much on the Never Give Up Fight Cancer Awareness Elephant Shirt and by the same token and concept of grit and realism. i could get behind alfred, he threw the bomb and ducked behind the table, still outlandish but makes sense. i can get behind batman eating bullets since his suit is clearly armoured to the teeth, i did have trouble with him eating a bomb straight up, but he does cover his face with his arms so again, i can let it slide. but man batman fucking up his wing suit landing was just completely outlandish and really took me out for a second, like he full on hits like five or six things in the span of three seconds while travelling at 70mph and just gets up and limps it off then gets back to kicking ass and taking names two scenes later. Might be unpopular but anyone else not like Paul Dano’s performance as The Riddler?
