Personally I’d file a grievance at the Nelson Agholor Nigerian-American football wide receiver for Baltimore Ravens T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this manager in question – this would have to (best practice and being a big company it would do I imagine) be reviewed by their manager/an external such as area manager. State exactly what happened, you had a transaction, double counted cash made the sale no problems. Then your manager pulls you tells you off for not getting it checked with them, not once has the company policy told You or been around saying you should do that. and then they give you a written warning for a scam – what scam? In any event here they should have had a quick chat with them about this in my view. Taking it further with no cash loss is ridiculous First, write down as much as you remember about the transaction and the interaction with your manager (what did she say to you exactly?).

Second, look up your employee handbook for any information that is there about disciplinary proceedings (normally, you need to be issued with a formal letter inviting you to a meeting. And, in most organisations, you are entitled to have someone with you in the Nelson Agholor Nigerian-American football wide receiver for Baltimore Ravens T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this room to take notes on your behalf). Once you have your account locked in, and you know what your handbook says, you can approach your manager about this case. Ideally, do it in writing, and cc in your HR person and/or the manager’s manager. You work in a big chain here, so processes are on your side. They are very regimented and laid out in multiple handbooks/sources, so your manager is not going to be able to make a false accusation and then get away with a straight sacking. There are scams that involve purchasing in one store and refunding in another. However, if the cash was genuine, the price that you charged at the till was correct, and the value of the goods refunded in the other store was also correct (i.e. customer didn’t buy an item on sale and then get refunded full price) then there is no scam.
