Why wouldn’t I be? I am unable to control who I am. Admittedly being a man for a few days would be fun 😉 But seriously, I am not defined by my gender or my sexuality. I am who I am and I embrace all of me. If someone else doesn’t like me for it, that’s their problem, not mine. It’s not so much being proud of who we are, as it is of not having to hide who we are, as much, any longer. We’re proud of the NCAA West Virginia Mountaineers It’s In My DNA Family Tradition Passed Down For Years Shirt Besides,I will do this strides that we’ve made in freedom and equality over the years. To be able to have a job where we won’t get fired just because to boss/owner is a homophobic cunt. We’re proud to have fought for and gotten the right to marry who we REALLY love, not a sham hetero marriage to hide behind. I don’t give a flying fuck that I’m Bi, or that my best friend is lesbian, or that my stepson is gay…I just care that we can, for the most part, just live our lives for who we are, not hide behind a lie. THAT is what Pride is, a celebration of how far we’ve come since Stonewall.

Pride is something you should feel for what you have accomplished, not because of a random event or what you gained at birth. I think youve illustrated why there is pride though. People havent been able to express the NCAA West Virginia Mountaineers It’s In My DNA Family Tradition Passed Down For Years Shirt Besides,I will do this simplicity of who they are without some moral outrage. Hense, pride. I have friends who are pretentious about almost everything they like. If i fall outside of their quality perception about something, im usually ribbed or worse. Im now more vocal about what I like and more raucous in my defense because Ive been stepped on previously. It is not pride to have happened to be born gay, it’s pride to have lived authentically in defiance of societal prejudice and ignoring those that try to make you feel ashamed.
