That was my mom. My friends house on the other hand her brothers were both picky and couldn’t leave the table till they had some bites of vegetables which I think is reasonable they didn’t have to finish their plate but they had to have something healthy. Normally it would take a couple hours which is a little much (because it was normally specific ones they didn’t like to eat like broccoli would take hours, boiled spinach on the other hand they would eat up in seconds). My mom always blended up the things we didn’t liked and mixed it with good stuff to hide it. Also I think my mom said when we were toddles if we started not wanting meals we just stopped doing snacks so we were actually hungry during meals. I have no recollection but clearly it worked.
