My mom used to load my plate up as if I was a starving grown man and made me sit at the Keith hernandez toon signature shirt also I will do this table and finish every bite. I remember many nights spent at the table full of tears because I wasn’t hungry anymore. She said it’s because she was poor and was hungry a lot as a kid but even knowing that it could lead to issues with food she hasn’t changed at all and it’s only one of the many reasons I’ve never had her babysit my kids. As a parent now, I tell my kids to eat until they’re done and if they don’t want it, they can have a sandwich as long as they at least tried a bite of whatever it was. I don’t fight with them about food and they’re really good about trying new things because they know they don’t have to eat it if they decide they don’t like it.

She’d also spend hundreds on groceries, buying more food than our family of 4 (2 of us kids in school 5 days a week) could possibly eat, and inevitably when stuff went bad she’d be in the Keith hernandez toon signature shirt also I will do this kitchen throwing stuff out while cussing and yelling at my sister and I about how wasteful and ungrateful we were for letting all this food go bad. Then she’d go back to the grocery store, rinse and repeat. That’s a whole different issue though. Because food is fucking expensive, and throwing away half a meal because the kid doesn’t feel like eating it, then having them come up to you half an hour later and say they’re hungry just adds insult to injury. Guess what, kid, sometimes we all have to do things we don’t want to do.
