I’ve worked with recruiters as a manager, and I’d be pretty pissed if we missed out on a candidate because they fucked up. 5 days was correct op received the email on the 16th. Email says 23rd because the automated system was thinking 5 business days. So it didn’t include the weekend in those 5 days. Hence the 2 extra days which is where the 23rd comes from. I suggest reaching out to the hiring manager and politely explaining the situation, and emphasizing that you really want the job, and that it was always your intention to accept.
