When I worked for the My Students are 100 Days Smarter 100th Day Of School Unicorn T-Shirt it is in the first place but nhs as a nurse, we had to work till our usual time so did an extra hour. They refused to pay us as they said it evens out when we do nights when the clocks go forward but they would never schedule it on that way so if you did the clocks back you were never on when the clocks went forward . I had a past employer that paid us the hour of overtime, and when we lost the hour in the spring, they paid us for the full 8 hours instead of shorting us. It was a small thing but nice. You work a normal 8 hour shift. When you leave the time will either be 1 hour ahead or behind. So if you normally leave a 7am, the clocks will now say 6am or 8am. But you still work 8 hours as normal. When I worked in banking overnight (non-salary) from 1030 PM – 7AM a.m., we just worked the extra hour and got paid for a 9 hour shift.

I worked the My Students are 100 Days Smarter 100th Day Of School Unicorn T-Shirt it is in the first place but overnight shift at Walmart at 2 different stores in 2 different states, and the policy was different at both places. At my first store, they didn’t want you to have unnecessary overtime so you were free to leave after your 8hr shift. So you’d technically be leaving at 6am instead of 7am. They’d ask a few part timers to stay until 7am to make sure the store had coverage until the morning crew came in at 7am, but this was all planned in advance so there was no last minute panic on who had to stay and who could go home. The same thing held true when we lose an hour in spring, except they’d still just schedule us until our usual end time at 7am. If you had all of your tasks complete you could leave at 7am and lose an hour of pay without penalty. Otherwise they’d ask you to stay until 8am to get your full 8hr shift in and complete your tasks. You were also allowed to stay until 8am if you wanted to make sure you still got your full 8hr pay for the day, they’d just find something for you to do.
