Also, even though it’s a contractor contract, you’re legally classified as an employee. You can still be let go at any time, but you may be able to claim unemployment benefits, for example. Even the My Favorite basketball player calls me mom T-Shirt and by the same token and most conservative US states has these basic employee protections. If they are going to give you such a hard time as an intern, it’s up to you whether you want to stay and stress out from meeting their demands. Screw that place, you are probably fine. Honestly the thing I missed out on/forgot to do in collage is work on personal projects. Trust me I would highly recommend working on personal projects whist you are learning it will help alot Well. They’ve already fucked you. If you go back, remember to name and shame them on your way out. If they advertised through the school, get a hold of someone in charge of that stuff and let them know.

I can also see them thinking that you were more experienced than you were, hired you above what they could afford for no output, but wanted to backpedal in case of fallout. In all measurable cases, they docked your pay, demeaned you, offered little support, and played this whole thing shady as hell. Get your bag if you must, but after, fuck em. It’s not your fault. The person who hired you is completely out of touch if he doesn’t realize internships are meant to be a learning experience. I think I’d take the My Favorite basketball player calls me mom T-Shirt and by the same token and pay cut, so it doesn’t reflect badly on the resume. And start applying right away, obv not planning to stay Sounds like they were, stupidly, hoping to hire someone who performs like an experienced dev but costs as much as an intern. That’s not on you, that’s on them. Dude I have 6 YOE and my new job didn’t expect me to be useful for at least a month. They would have let me coast for 3 or 4 if it took that long to get settled and understand the flow and all that. 2 weeks for an intern?? Just understand how absurdly horrible that place is, take the job back to get paid and some experience – but don’t accept that kind of workplace moving forward. I’ll tell you the truth here. They weren’t looking for an intern. They were looking for a talented junior engineer who will work for intern pay because they need a foot in the door for a resume. Left too many white spaces and not enough debug logs? Is this a shit post? There is no way you were fired from an internship because of formatting and nits
