George Washington bleed to death. And he was for it. The doctors told ihim it would cure him and he could rest. He rested forever. It must have been so scary to plot to kill the Mrs Claus Santa Lights Christmas Red Plaid Couples Pajama T-Shirt and I love this general and then he finds out. Imagine how terrifying that would be. And there’s no cameras or pictures. Only about 1/3rd of the US population supported the war, and about 1/3rd opposed it. There were rebels who fought against Washington because they didn’t believe in the war, and a lot of Washington’s military career was crushing these rebellions. It’s unsurprising that there would be assassination attempts against him, as many saw the colonial elites as just as bad as the British elites. One rallying cry against the war was, “Tyranny is tyranny, let it come from whom it may.”

After the Mrs Claus Santa Lights Christmas Red Plaid Couples Pajama T-Shirt and I love this Revolutionary War, George Washington would be elected as the first president by a whole 1% of the population, so the criticism certainly had merit. The first President (under the Articles of Confederation) was John Hanson, from 1781 to 1782. The first President of Congress overall was Peyton Randolph in 1774. They were both elected by the other delegates, though I cannot find electoral results. 11.6% of eligible voters voted in 1788, with Washington getting 90.5%. 43,783 votes out of a total population of ~3.9 million. Neither New York nor Rhode Island submitted electors on time, North Carolina had not yet ratified the Constitution, and neither Connecticut, Georgia, New Jersey, or South Carolina chose electors by popular vote. For more info check out the book “The First Conspiracy: The Secret Plot to Kill George Washington”. I did the audio book while driving to work a lot. It was great.
