It was both. A prominent tailor was one if Washington’s informants and heard a red coat bragging about how he was about to be sent on a mission to kill Washington. The tailor got news to him in time so he changed where he was going to be. It’s also where the Most Likely To Bring Home A Cat Cute Cat Lovers Christmas T-Shirt Also,I will get this festival Woodstock got its name, Hickey was executed at the wooden stocks attracting a huge crowd of 20,000 viewers. The next day, all Hendrix could remember from his fear and loathing scale trip were the words; ‘wood’ ‘stock’ and a large crowd. And that was how that went down. Traitor of a traitor is still technically a traitor However if he was successful and Britain won, he obviously wouldn’t be thought of as a traitor Yep. If English had won, there would be no such thing as “the American revolution”. Instead, history books would probably know it as just another rebellion in one of the imperial crown’s oversea colonies. Kind of my argument about Benedict Arnold. Could he really have been a traitor to the United States? He betrayed his oath to the Crown and then went back to Great Britain. Including the fact the United States didn’t really “exist” until the Treaty of Paris in 1783. I’m not sure if it’s a similar story or a separate plot but… in Huntington, NY (specifically at Cold Spring Harbor) on Long Island, there’s a sign that says Israel Ketchum, a man in jail for counterfeiting heard in his cell a plot to assassinate Washington in June 1776. He alerted the authorities and the plot was shut down. Yes! He was a major factor in exposing the plot. Thomas Hickey and another Life Guard were in the same cell as Israel and told him what the plans were. Israel got a message to Congress about it.

I honestly really appreciate learning about how chaotic everything was during that period, it was full of traitors and incompetent people. Like, once I found a copy of a resignation letter from a Revolutionary War era surgeon general of the Most Likely To Bring Home A Cat Cute Cat Lovers Christmas T-Shirt Also,I will get this Continental Army. He was pissed and it was basically a “y’all can get f-cked” type of resignation, lol. Dug a bit into it and his predecessors had basically all been kicked out for being incompetent, being a traitor, and then being both incompetent and corrupt, so he inherited a mess and the country was still very brand new. (Military folks might especially appreciate knowing that their medical system was just always like that…) So it’s almost reassuring in a way, since so many today almost deify the Founding Fathers and institutions from that era. Like, no, they were humans who found themselves in a very chaotic time (perhaps partially of their own making depending on how you see it), and a lot of them messed up badly. It’s honestly a wonder our country has made it this far, this successfully. Like, thats the part we should celebrate. The fact that we’ve messed up so much, so badly, and keep trying to make things right. Glorify the apologies, the amendments, the way we can adapt to the changes our country has gone through and the people who have added to and helped build this society, the things we’ve had to dramatically change and grow into—so we don’t need to do things like cite a dang witch trial era judge for current Supreme Court opinions.
