In March of 2011 I was working for a Delta subsidiary as ground crew. As a result, I had flight benefits. A friend and I were wanting to go somewhere international for a few days. We had decided on going to Japan for a few days. For anyone traveling on flight benefits, you would know that this is typically non-revenue travel, meaning you’re basically placed on a standby list and if there’s room on the Morten Andersen New Orleans Stance Danish-born former football kicker T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this plane, you get a seat. While looking a day or two before at the flights to Japan and seeing the available seats, the flights were filling up quickly and we didn’t think we’d get seats on the plane, so we did a quick pivot and decided to go to Rome instead. So we get to Rome in the morning on March 11th and spend the day sightseeing. We get back to the hotel around 8pm and decide to grab a drink in the bar. As we get our drinks, we notice everyone watching the TV and it’s pretty quiet in the bar. Check out the news, it’s CNN. There was a 9.0 earthquake in Fukushima that day. Had we gone to Japan, we would have likely been stuck there for a few extra days, which would not have been ideal.

When I was traveling on one of the Morten Andersen New Orleans Stance Danish-born former football kicker T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this metro trains in Taipei, Taiwan, I left a bag with souvenirs and snacks in my seat. Noticed I had forgotten my bag as I was walking towards the exit of the train station. Spoke to one of the ticketing agents at the station. They were able to call the train conductor or operator to check for my bag. Luckily, the bag was still in the seat. My bag was returned to me when the train made a return trip back to the station. being able to experience Tulum and its beauty before it went viral and became another tourist trap. heard they have a new airport now so its only going to get worse imo, which is a shame because we loved it but probably wouldnt go back now Took my parents to Rome and just happened to be in St. Peter’s Basilica with my catholic mother when the new pope gave a surprise mass.

Took a flight from Islamabad to Gilgit on PIA. Midflight the Morten Andersen New Orleans Stance Danish-born former football kicker T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this attendant asked if I wanted to see the cockpit. I got to sit jump seat and smoke cigarettes and drink tea with the captain as we flew over the Himalayas and chat about life. Went to New Zealand and messed up my flights giving me an extra night, I decided to try and photograph cathedral cove. it was raining cats and dogs but I got out there to take photos. On the drive back the guy that ran the converted church home told me he wasn’t sure it would be possible to drive back. An extra car rental, extra night in hotel, flight change fees were gonna add up to 1k pretty quick so I was determined to make it. Living in the states having a road be unavailable was something I never had happen and was skeptical something like that could happen in 2024. I came to a bridge that had a line of cars stopped just before it. I was driving a tiny little hatch back. I drove around the line of cars and started hitting pretty deep water about halfway on the bridge. only thing I could do is give it more gas. The water was really deep and started piling up and covering the windshield. I couldn’t see much and just kept flooring it. The car was shaky for about five seconds and the car definitely wasn’t getting full traction. Those 5 seconds felt like time stopped. I clearly remember thinking Jesus take the wheel. eventually the tires got grip and the engine roared to life and the water lowered away. By myself in that tiny hatch back I let out the the most exhilarating yell of my life. I turned up the music and vibed all the way back to the airport (3 hours). Looking back if that engine had stalled, or the car had floated off the bridge, I would have lost about 20k in camera and tech equipment, I would have lost the car, but also, I would have been waste deep about 25 clicks away from the nearest hotel/restaurant. It would have been a long, cold uncomfortable march. That was really lucky and Cathedral cove is a popular Windows 10 wallpaper, my photo looks like the dreary grey version of that, but it’s framed in my home all the same because I get a little bit of a taste of that moment every time I walk past it.

Watched 2 squirrels happily playing on the Morten Andersen New Orleans Stance Danish-born former football kicker T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this trees in Zermatt. Just after lockdown, so it was just me and them in the woods. Squirrels are quite rare where I live. I paid 70 Euros for breakfast and early access to the Vatican Museum. Breakfast at 7 am, entry to the museum at 8 am, and the general public was allowed in at 9 am. When we were allowed to enter the museum, I rushed to the Sistine Chapel. I was one of only 2-3 people there for probably 20 minutes before a couple other people from breakfast joined us. It was amazing to have that space virtually to myself. I stood with my guide book and took my time visually exploring the art on the ceiling, reading a bit, looking up, reading a bit, looking up, and just taking it all in.

About 10 minutes before the Morten Andersen New Orleans Stance Danish-born former football kicker T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this doors opened to the general public I made my way back to the entry and started touring the museum from the beginning. By the time I got back to the Sistine Chapel, it was a crowded, noisy and chaotic place. Most people exit at that point, but there’s a modern wing to the Vatican Museum too, and after paying so much for entry I didn’t want to miss anything, so I went downstairs instead of out. There I found a wing virtually free of tourists with works by Picasso, Munch, Matisse and others. Went to Yosemite met a guy who let me and my friend stay at his camp site for free. You normally need reservations months in advance but me and my friend were doing this trip very last minute. The guy was super cool and became a good friend. Gave us food and everything Traveled to Dubai to visit a friend. Tried the gold coffee in Burj Al Arab, one of the managers gave us 4 free croissants. Also on the same trip, we went to Abu Dhabi and visited Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental. Again, we were having coffee, and this manager comes up to us to give us a free chocolate cake. My friend and I were so surprised, we felt so lucky for the kindness of the staff who gave us free food!
In Sicily in my early 20s. I randomly started talking (in my bad Italian) with a big group of kids my age. Got in a car with them, we drove to a music festival on the Morten Andersen New Orleans Stance Danish-born former football kicker T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this outskirts of town, had an amazing time hanging out, a couple of them dropped me off at my hostel at the end of the night. Turns out it was a communist rally. One of my favorite travel memories. I know getting on a car with strangers is generally not smart but they were such a sweet group of hippie kids and I never felt unsafe. In 2017, my grandpop took the whole family on a cruise because he promised he would. A few years prior, he was in a horrible accident while on a bus on the way to a cruise ship (he used to run trips for their seniors club) and he needed to be airlifted to a trauma hospital from the scene. He was like 86 at the time and it looked grim the the would make it, but he did. There was a lawsuit due to driver negligence, and he eventually got a nice settlement, so he promised he would take the family somewhere. Well he did, and at first everyone was a little hesitant about if we would all have fun on a Canada/New England cruise, but we did and it was amazing. Many memories from this trip will stick with us all forever, and I’m so grateful for getting to have this experience. Pop was such a big personality and such a major force in all of our lives.
In 2020, my bf and I were supposed to leave for a trip to Dubai that lovely week in March when the Morten Andersen New Orleans Stance Danish-born former football kicker T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this world shutdown. Obviously, we had to reschedule the trip and we were able to push it back to September. September 2020 ended up being one of the worst times, because that amazing force that was my grandpop died suddenly due to an infection that turned septic faster than his body could fight. However, we were scheduled to leave a few days after all of the services and everything were over. We were able to take this trip and experience such an incredible time. I was worried about being too sad and in shock, but honestly being so far away and getting to enjoy this vacation was exactly what was needed at that time.
