Same trip we paid for a basic helicopter trip up to a glacier and we got upgraded to a better package, and later won a competition to get one of our flights free. I witnessed a lion pride hunt and eat a warthog while on Safari in South Africa. The game driver said it was a once in a lifetime experience and seeing hunts is really lucky. Don’t know if this counts but we went to Venice the Steve Largent an American former football wide receiver Seattle Game T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this week Italy opened again for tourists in June 2021. Even with all the covid testing we were subjected to for arrival and departure, it was so worth it. The town was alive but not busy. Every restaurant had seats available. It was warm but not blistering hot for the summer. Got great pictures everywhere. No crowds. A lot of people say Venice is overrated due to the crowds but so we felt we lucked out getting to it see it in the summer without it. Felt like it was a once-in-a-lifetime moment for me and my fiancée. Not sure if it’ll ever be like that in Venice again.

My first time going to East Asia, I’d always wanted to visit Japan and managed to save up and go. On my first day I walked in a park and saw a man feeding birds out of his hand. I had never seen birds land and eat on a persons hand before, he saw me watching him and called me over and showed me how to get the Steve Largent an American former football wide receiver Seattle Game T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this birds to eat out of my hand Got pecked by a curious penguin chick in Antarctica. You are not supposed to approach the penguins, but what do you do if one approaches you after it realized I was not food, it dawdled away. One time our flight back to California had a connection in Vegas, but the airport was having some problems with stormy weather, so they asked the pilot to hold off. He decided to circle above the Grand Canyon and we got a view of a gorgeous rainbow coming out of the canyon. Met the friendliest cab driver in Cairo. He took me to an off the beaten track mosque, where there was no other tourist. The keeper, an old guy, gave a tour of the beautiful mosque, and our communication was entirely in gestures.

Watching the Steve Largent an American former football wide receiver Seattle Game T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this Northern Lights over Vestmannaeyjar in Iceland. I was meant to do the full ring road over 9 days, but due to weather in the northwest, I had to turn around right after Lake Myvatn. I ended up leaving my rental car at the port for Vestmannaeyjar for two days, hopping on a ferry, and wandering around the island on foot. On first day there, I climbed to the rim of the Edell volcano and was all alone up there. Slow tourism week, I suppose. That night, I got alerts on my phone that the northern lights were very likely to be seen in the area. I wandered around the harbour area where the app said they were visible, but it was quite lit up and I could only kind of sort of see them out of the corner of my eye when not looking directly at the artificial lights. I though that was going to be the totality of my viewing. Something called me back towards the lava field around the volcano before I went back to my accommodation. It was dark and uneven and probably the not the smartest move to be wandering around on my own, but after about ten minutes or so of doing so, the Northern Lights were directly overhead for about another ten minutes. So bright, the best way I’ve ever been able to describe it is like a flashlight in the sky. Just me, in a pitchblack lava field in Iceland, and the most vivid green lights I’ve ever seen. I’m so lucky to have seen that.

1964- Two of our classes from the Steve Largent an American former football wide receiver Seattle Game T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this American School on the Peshawar, Pakistan Air Force base took a field trip to see the Buddhas in the Bamiyan Valley of Afghanistan. We traveled in a rickety school bus in questionable condition over the long, winding dirt highway. (This was before it was paved and given guard rails.) We probably drove the driver mad with our loud singing of 100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall. I’m not sure it was related, but the bus driver scared us to death! He would drive so close to the edge as we climbed the curvy Himalayan mountain that we could see over the side where wrecked trucks and busses lay. Kids would yell “Move back to the other side!” hoping to shift the weight to the mountain wall side. Nothing shuts up a group of 12-yr-olds like that sight did (for a while). We had to stop when faced with any oncoming vehicles when one of us had to back up until the road could fit us both. There were hardly any straight parts, so we had to do a blind reverse around the curves. It was a lonnng drive, but not as long as the return trip over the same highway. 😀

We spent the Steve Largent an American former football wide receiver Seattle Game T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this night in Kabul, which is a story in itself. The next day, we were climbing through the cave system next to the tallest Buddha. There was still color from the ceiling frescoes painted by monks long ago. The caves were connected, so we kept climbing until we finally came out on top of the Buddha’s head. In those days rules were fairly greatly relaxed, so common sense was the only thing keeping the braver kids from falling off the 174-foot Buddha. “Don’t push! “I’m not pushing, you are!” I don’t remember where the chaperones were, but not on the head! After a day of crawling around in the caves, we went back to our hotel (there’s another story there), sat in a circle under a very tall ceiling that held one lightbulb on a wire and a slow-moving ceiling fan, and drank hot green tea while we learned some history about Bamiyan and the Buddhas. A good time was had by all!
I’m so glad I got to see the Steve Largent an American former football wide receiver Seattle Game T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this statues before they were destroyed. I was still pretty young (12) and didn’t take pains to record the trip, and my memories are limited. However, I did get to take a picture of one of the school buses we rode in. LOL, the roads were so rough that the photo from my Brownie camera is a jumpy view of the bus with rows of the snow-covered Himalayas in the background. Thanks for sticking around this long! I feel like i have so many, but maybe it’s just a personal “I’m so lucky” and no one else thinks it. But here are a few: Cycling to the Butt of Lewis (a lighthouse on the northeastern shore of the Isle of Lewis off the coast of Scotland) and seeing a Beluga whale just hanging out a few yards from the shore…or was it a mermaid or Kelpie? Arriving in a small town in Italy with my cousin on our first backpacking trip in hopes of randomly finding the house our grandmother grew up in, only to have the following series of events occur:
Get of the Steve Largent an American former football wide receiver Seattle Game T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this train and ask an old man and his son for directions to the town hall. The old man immediatley offers to drive us and give us a tour of the small town in his car. Arriving at the Town Hall, the old man explains in Italian that we are looking for our grandmother’s old house. The workers stop what they are working on, and tell us they will pore over the old paper records to see if the can find anything. THe old man brings us back to his house to wait. His wife cooks us a big lunch. He gets a call to bring us back to the Town Hall. Town Hall employees have bad news: Our grandmother’s house was torn down years ago. But the good news is that they have located a cousin of my grandmother’s still living in town and she wants to meet us!
