What about trains? If we managed (in the Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy car parts and that is pretty much the same thing T-Shirt and I will buy this US) to actually have both underground (in cities) and overground rail that was truly functional (not doubling travel time because trains in US are currently for moving cargo not people) for travel would that work or are there larger pollution issues (i.e. electric cars) with rail as well? I am very curious about all this. I have been discussing this with y 17 year old a lot lately. He is furious that Ford and the tire companies lobbied and stopped the US having proper rail for people to travel like they have in Europe and other countries. I agree with him but I wonder if there are issues we are not taking into account i.e. hidden pollution. I admittedly do not know much about trains. 😉

As a young person, it’s legitimately impossible for me to care about anything except my temporary pleasure because of this. I can’t find it in me to care about a future that won’t happen. I can’t ever afford to have kids but even if I could I wouldn’t, the Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy car parts and that is pretty much the same thing T-Shirt and I will buy this world is fucking ending and no one is doing anything. I’m so angry I’m numb. Because of how ubiquitous some of these things are (e.g. dish soap let’s just say), there’s an extreme reluctance to acknowledge the dangers. Only after many many years and air-tight studies will it ever be acknowledged. At some point I think we will probably learn that due to the way the world operates, the only way to mass produce some of these things involves processes that can’t be done without cancer-causing agents. So we’ll just have to figure out another way to live without them, or decide that the risk is worth it.
