Just because his parents have been cheap pricks forever, doesn’t mean he has to continue that trend… Do what you know is right, you’re a better person. You do what your heart says, and may Karma prevail once more. Still waiting for karma to prevail for all the greedy corporation CEOs, soulless investment bankers and crooked politicians, any day now i remember at the start of covid i wanted to leave a slightly bigger tip for the guy delivering our food, and my dad literally would not let me. Our house cleaner charges $100/hr, and the one before that charged $60. This isn’t uncommon where I’m from. I didn’t have a cleaner in the sharehouses I was in at uni but once we were all working it was pretty affordable and resolved a lot of the small resentments between housemates over cleaning. Relationship preservation is worth a lot in my book. That’s why I hired a Housecleaner for years when I was a full time teacher. I would be exhausted from teaching and then spend my weekend cleaning. The second someone in my family spilled something on the floor, I was enraged.
