For future reference, it’s bonkers not to immediately accept a job offer if you want it. An offer is not a signed contract and it can be withdrawn at any time for any reason. You may not be the Minnesota Timberwolves Teams Forever Not Just When We Win Thank You For The Memories Signatures Shirt Additionally,I will love this only person who received an offer and you may not be their first choice. You should accept an offer as soon as you get it (if you want the job) and continue with your other applications separately. You may well get another offer that doesn’t start for a few months and you may need a job as a stop gap. You fucked up by not accepting immediately but it’s a good lesson and now you’ll never make the mistake again — we’ve all been there. The broader lesson is to always be proactive. Don’t wait for anything. You should be out there making things happen. If an opportunity is in front of you, take it or pass on it, don’t sit on it and twiddle your thumbs. That applies to everything, whether it’s a job or a task or a date.

Nobody is going to tell LinkedIn anything. They’ll be pissed for a minute and then turn around and offer the next person. Your read was perfectly reasonable. The company is being unreasonable. Many of us would have hang ups about accepting an offer despite not really intending to follow through. Some call that folly. I call it integrity.
