Rescinding an offer after accepting has consequences and can hurt you if you seek employment within the same company (or even industry) in the future. Because I was under the impression I had until the 23rd and accepting a job offer only to reject it would be seen as unprofessional and may hurt my chances of getting offers on LinkedIn the job hiring site I use. I’m not sure how accepting and then rejecting an offer would have any affect on your LinkedIn. It’s not like the company can write a negative review on your profile. How would other companies even know? No sense in having loyalty to jobs, they’ll drop you as soon as you’re not useful to them anymore as clearly shown here. Next time review the offer letter first – if it says accept by the 20th you have to go by that. Hope you learned your lesson.
