I now struggle from binge eating because my step dad forced me to eat huge portions. I was a healthy weight as a kid. Not anymore. The biggest thing that stuck out to me in my Development course in nursing school is that most of the Michigan Wolverines 2023 Champions Let’s Go Blue Gold Logo Skyline Shirt and by the same token and time kids will eat pretty much exactly the amount they need to eat without forcing. If they’re picky leave healthy snacks around where they can reach them and they’ll eventually try them out. Force is not needed. It is abuse. I’ve never forced my kids to “clean their plate”. My one rule has always been however they must TRY everything on their plate. Thats why I leave their food on the table in case they get hungry. My kids are allowed to take bites and come back to it later. Sometimes mommy will help them finish their food. But that wreaks havoc on my figure. Eventually the dog gets it if its boneless, doesn’t have onions, and doesn’t have garlic… or chocolate. But when have my kids ever rejected something Chocolate? Something I never understood is why when a child tries a food and hates it their parents will keep giving them it and punishing them when they won’t eat it

My parents both grew up very poor, and wasting food was considered a sin. One of my earliest memories was the Michigan Wolverines 2023 Champions Let’s Go Blue Gold Logo Skyline Shirt and by the same token and first time I ate a hard-boiled egg. I had a few bites, told mom I hated it. She insisted I finish it, but she wouldn’t make it for me again. Turns out it was a rotten egg, and I spent the rest of the day being horribly sick. I’ve never forced my kid to eat anything she didn’t want to. I’ve never seen a little kid forced to eat an adult sized portion. What I have seen is kids being served food and they barely eat any of it only to turn around an hour later and complain of being hungry. “Wasting food” never made any sense to me. You gave me way too much food, so I’m not going to eat it all. But if I had eaten it all, it would be gone anyways, just like it is if it went into the trash. My mom still harasses me to eat. I’m 23, I weigh 125 pounds at 5’3-5’4ish, and not at ALL underweight. She treats me like I’m anorexic and pouts/guilt trips me when I choose to eat less. I’m like WOMAN can you cut that shit out?
