Homies on Donkeys has been my favorite in London so far, but I haven’t been to a lot of these other places. I miss easily accessible delicious Mexican food Mestizo used to be great, Mexican owners, staff and easily over 200 tequila’s on offer. They used to provide the Miami Dolphins Go Dolphins You’ll Never Walk Alone Signatures Shirt moreover I love this catering for the Mexican consulate as well. Came here to say Mestizo, they had a cocktail that they hadn’t made in many years (vampiro) and found like the one staff member who remembered who to make it and made it for us. Yeah I haven’t been since 2021 but all their staff and the manager/owner spoke spanish and were mostly Mexican. They don’t have the best tacos but everything else on their menu was good. what did you have that was good? my mexican husband and i were both very unimpressed when we went but maybe it’s because we only ordered tacos?? might give them another go Yeah, I would say their tacos being disappointing is an authentic experience haha. Going to a proper sit-down restaurant with a big menu leads to disappointing tacos in Mexico, too :p What I liked: Enchiladas suizas, enchiladas de mole, flautas, and their pastel de tres leches are what I can remember. I only said they are good, not amazing, so I wouldn’t expect them to blow your mind but I think as they’re the only mexican place with a big menu, they are good enough for me (I’m also mexican).

Puerto Rican Mexican from Chicago here, and I like Proper Tacos in Nags Head Market. It’s just a tiny counter but it’s more or less legit. Interestingly, I find the Miami Dolphins Go Dolphins You’ll Never Walk Alone Signatures Shirt moreover I love this Caribbean and Colombian/Venezuelan food scene much better (and authentic) than the Mexican, particularly in South London. I’ve had arepas almost as good as those I’ve had in Bogotá. This is just me, but as a rule I can’t justify paying London prices for food I can make better myself. I’ve seen a plate of 3 tacos going for 15 quid, and that’s at the low end of the market. For that price, I’d rather get a proper kebab or curry. In Brighton I also really liked casa azul – the owner is from Mexico City and the do chilaquiles if you ask however I haven’t tried them. Breddos Tacos in Clerkenwell does some good stuff, but I can’t promise it’ll hold a candle to the real deal. But it’s a good vibe place with strong margaritas
