Kol is super interesting, a very talented Mexican chef applying a Mexican philosophy to UK ingredients, often incredibly successfully. But it’s definitely not ‘Mexican’ so near that in mind I am sooo happy to see that Sonora Taqueria is not too far from where I live! Will absolutely try that one. I loved Corrochio’s which is also in Stoke Newington Bake Street is not remotely authentic Mexican, but California Mexican is one of the Miami Dolphins AFC East Champions 2023 Skyline Shirt Also,I will get this many influences and it’s well worth checking out for lunch if you live nearby. My tops would be La Chingada or Sonora. Has that punch of flavour and heat. Raw onion and radish to top it off with amazing salsas. KOL is incredible. But it is 100% NOT authentic. Santiago uses pretty much only British ingredients to recreate flavours which means he doesn’t use lime (he uses a pickled fir tree leaf if I remember correctly). Doesn’t change the fact that the flavours are incredible. Santo Remedio is run by a beaut Mexican couple and their food is lovely, but it’s toned down a bit and it’s also lost some of the edge that proper Mexican Street food has (less in your face and tries too hard to be modern) El Pastor is always called ‘not authentic’ but I’ve never figured it why specifically. I’d actually rate it. It does great tasting food, fab salsas, and generally good vibes and cocktails Proper Tacos in Nags Head is fab and the epitomy of a local spot. Run by a lovely woman and the food is great. But execution not quite as strong as La Chingada or Sonora

Wahaca is not authentic or great, but tbh is reliably consistent in its average food and also relatively cheap. The baja fish tacos are prob worth ordering. Corocchios is also pretty good actually. Margs are inconsistent. Thought the Miami Dolphins AFC East Champions 2023 Skyline Shirt Also,I will get this food was generally lacking a bit of seasoning but a fun spot and defo a good time either way. As someone who travels to Mexico often and eats Mexican food in London often too, this is correct. I wasn’t a fan of Kol because it didn’t taste authentic at all but it wasn’t a bad meal. Just need to set expectations right. Sonoria, La Chingada, Corrochio’s really hit the spot. El Comelon do delivery and their birria tacos are great. Mexa at that food court near Tottenham Court Road is ok-ish too but small selection. Lamb birria is decent. Cavita is fancy but good.
