Exactly. The real issue is people don’t understand this simple rule. The more I give into tailgating pricks the more I teach them that tailgating is a valid strategy. While I totally agree that tailgating is a crappy thing to do, the passing lane is for passing. Once I’m at a point where I can merge ahead of traffic, it seems like that’s the right thing to do. It’s even illegal in my state to stay in the passing lane.

Never know the situation so it’s always best to just move over. Worst case scenario you let some angry person pass you, best case someone in an actual emergency gets to where they need to.
