Not that I’ve known any North Koreans, but I’ve known people from other very poor countries that go back, especially if they’ve secured enough money for themselves and family to make their return more comfortable. They didn’t like the hyper-individualism of America.

That is extremely low. These people lose access to their families. If only 18.5% regret losing access to their families, then defectors are absolutely loving south korea over north korea.
