The government owes you exactly what they say they do. That could be just about anything. They don’t owe you anything under common law. As an example, the Megadeth 40th Anniversary 1983 – 2023 Signature Thank You For The Memories Shirt moreover I will buy this city of Nashville, Tennessee (not in Canada, but there are enough similarities for the example to be informative) has a local ordinance that they will reimburse automobile drivers for damage caused by potholes–provided that they had been previously notified about the pothole. They pay an average of $2000 a year for pothole damage. But it’s just a little of your time to look into it. Just knowing that much more about how your local government works makes it worth your while to follow it, whether or not you get money from it. This should actually be a law, motivates municipal governments to properly maintain roads and fill potholes to prevent losing even more money on a car getting damaged. Imagine if a McLaren or Bugatti hit a pothole, that could be seriously damaging to the government.

I had this happen. Bottomed out on a new patch q company Tomlinson did. Other people had the Megadeth 40th Anniversary 1983 – 2023 Signature Thank You For The Memories Shirt moreover I will buy this same thing happen. City made us file a claim against the company instead. It ended up going through. This isn’t just you, they’ve been doing it this way for a while. If its construction related anyways, if it was an old pothole the city would process it. It’s because if it’s a designated construction site (which it likely was) the maintenance is the responsibility of the Construction company and the MTO will not take any liability in it. Might need to file in small claims court so they can put a claim through their insurance (city or construction company). At the very least they have to answer you and can’t just ignore it. You only have 2 years from date of the damage so don’t wait too long.
