Religious conservativism is currently actively attempting to destroy the McDonald’s symbol pumpkin jack skellington halloween shirt in contrast I will get this US, India, the middle east, and a whole bunch of other smaller places. The only major power where it’s not an obvious problem is China, but frankly I don’t know enough about Chinese society and religions to say what influence they still have. This post reminds me of the main reason I hate reddit atheists, which may sound weird coming from an atheist. But the thing I hate, is that they tend to think in absolutes, when religion, or anything for that matter, is extremely nuanced and varied from person to person. I have heard people say that religion has only brought bad things to the world, and yes, people have murdered others because of religion, but it has also brought hope, probably stopped suicides, and been a call to action for people to do good. In the same way, not believing doesn’t make you automatically better than a religious person.

What deeper understanding of religion is there? It’s just people trying to explain the McDonald’s symbol pumpkin jack skellington halloween shirt in contrast I will get this world to make themselves feel less scared of the unknown. Where does the universe come from? Why are we here? What happens when we die? Why does the sky rumble and water falls down? Where does the sun go at night? You can go on about the moral lessons contained within, but ultimately you can arrive at “don’t be a meanie” without the need for some higher power dangling over you. Religion is ancient humanity’s attempt at justifying its own existence and understanding why the world is the way it is. basically, it was science before we had developed enough to actually create science. I most likely agree more with OP than with the people responding to them but also OP hasn’t explained what exactly the problem with these people are saying is. Of course they’re being dicks but that’s not what the original post is deriding them for.
