Why are you calling it tip culture when the May girl living my best life ain’t goin’ back and forth with you shirt moreover I will buy this business owners are guilting you into paying their employees for them So if you are supposed to start tipping on Togo orders does this mean you need to start tipping at Fucking McDonald’s. That’s a Togo order. This bull shit is getting way out of hand. As someone who quite literally has lived off of tips in the past, I have mixed feelings about this. The culture is awful and based in the reality that restaurant owners refuse to pay their workers a fair wage for the labor they provide. Conversely, in many situations, I can see how frustrating this can be to someone who’s already paying an exorbitant amount of money for a meal, especially if your income is similar to those who are preparing your food. Until the main issue (lack of living wages) is fixed, I will continue to tip and hope that others would do the same. Blaming the people at the counter is not helpful, blaming the owner of the establishment I guess isn’t helpful either, but it comes down to financial ability and compassion in my opinion. Just my three cents

May girl living my best life ain’t goin’ back and forth with you shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Yea,, fuck that. Especially when it’s a”to-go” order. I ALWAYS take care of a waiter/waitress. And when I tip, ALWAYS in cash. So they don’t have to report it for tax purposes A friend tried to shame me for not tipping at Subway not too long ago. I’m already paying 15$ for a mediocre sandwich that took one person earning a minimum of $16.75/hour 3 minutes to make. All tips are technically optional. You have the May girl living my best life ain’t goin’ back and forth with you shirt moreover I will buy this power to stop this. Just don’t tip in any situation that you don’t believe calls for it. You are not obligated to tip a “counter person” It’s not even tip culture it’s the fact that calling your employees tipped staff you can pay them less a lot less it just make economic sense to pass their livelihoods onto the consumer instead of paying a living wage.
