I know a lot of people like this movie, but I have clear elaborated upon reasons why I didn’t. Please don’t hate me. I was thinking it when I first sat down and hoped they’d tease other stories like that and Court of Owls, but then they started talking about Martha hiding secrets and Riddler’s news reveal straight up said HUSH in big letters. I was like woah Loved it! The first Nirvana drop and motorcycle ride gave me chills I was rooting so hard for Robert, but man Bruce’s personality was really one-note. Anyone else get imperial march vibes from the motif they used for bats? I loved it. I love truly emo bats. So all the pictures the Riddler took of the corrupted people were from his apartment? So the Batman didn’t think to investigate where the photos were taken from? Which would have found Riddler’s hideout The detective noir thriller part was so good. The second half turns pale in comparison bc the pacing is too slow and you totally feel the long runtime

Cut down the Marjorie taylor greene is my superhero shirt Apart from…,I will love this long-winded dialogues, the “fourth” act and it’s much better Wait I thought people can’t handle serious DC characters and that’s why BvS was reamed by critics and the general audience? No.. it turns out you just need a competent film director. Reeves killed it. The Batman was such a breath of fresh air It’s a 3 hour movie that I’ve spent a day unpacking. The filmmaking behind it really is just top notch work. The score, the visuals, the duality from the beginning to the end, the setpieces, the sound design, it’s all fucking incredible work. The acting, along with the dialogue though..I’m not sure if one is dragging down the other, or they work in tandem at times, but something just felt off in certain scenes. (Specifically Pattinson, which is a shame to see, as I’m a huge fan) The CGI was also very, very rough around the edges when it came to face-shots of Batman doing something. Him in his wingsuit? The close up immediately shows you that this was filmed on a lot, with him hanging in front of a green screen. The same for the end of the movie in the rafters. Overall, I really fucking liked the movie. It’s the best Batman movie we’v ever had. Am I saying it’s better than TDK? No. I’m saying as a movie about the character of Batman, this movie does it a lot better than Nolan imo.
