Sound was too loud. Mediocre detective movie’. Lol. That’s first night hype for ya. Yea I’ve watched this 4 times already and I come back to the thread each time, sorting by new. It’s getting to be more of a commonplace take that this movie was either “just okay” or “just good, but not great”. (Or in some cases, straight up bad) I’m really curious to see what the drop off in sales looks like next week; whether it will be average or worse than average. Because I personally don’t think this movie is gonna get great word of mouth.

Why do I I feel like this movie just fell completely flat for me? The actors were perfectly cast. The story was good. But I didn’t feel any suspense or excitement at all. After each scene I just felt like “ok that happened, what now?” After every freaking scene. I think I tried to force myself to be excited thru the Madison cawthorn wearing women’s lingerie shirt moreover I will buy this first half, but realized it was just flat all the way thru after I left the theater. way too long, way too slow. the batmobile was dope af tho I went in hoping to like it as much as I liked the trailer but in the end I had to agree with MovieBob: it’s not a movie, it’s a 5-part HBO Max series condensed into 2.5 hours. There are so many micro arcs that are resolved without consequence that by the end of the movie I felt like I had just binge watched a show. I also wasn’t particularly fond of the stadium scene and that hope message. It was a bit too Superman-y for my taste. Cinematography beautiful, acting fantastic, casting perfect, action scenes good, investigation good, just the look of Gotham and his house also great. Riddler incredible. But damn, so slow and meandering. And what was that Joker at the end? Ooof This movie is a mood, you’re either on it’s wavelength or you’re not. I feel like I melted into this world for three hours, the slow crime scenes, the tense ones, the action scenes. Good god the car chase. He was a beast in every frame. It’s not at all what I expected, paced and shot in a way I’ve literally never seen in a blockbuster, feels so fresh for the evolution of Batman, so different than Nolan, cannot wait for more of this trilogy.
