I distinctly remember the Made in Finland a long long time ago shirt it is in the first place but cop getting frustrated at me for not knowing the names of different fingers (bro I’m a first grader I probably hadn’t even heard the word “index” by that point,) and eventually just grabbing my hand and doing the prints by force. My parents were pissed, both because I was covered in ink and because, y’know, fingerprinting children. There was a lot of yelling into the phone. I don’t remember if anything came of it. It’s funny, back in the early 80s when I started school, my school always had a day set aside for a kindergarten field trip to go get fingerprinted. No one ever gave it a second thought back then. I vaguely remember thinking it was weird, but then my fingers were covered in ink so I had to go touch my friends’ faces as much as possible, because ink fingers, and that was that. Nowadays, no way would I be ok with that for my kids. I have an in-law who got some sort of juvenile sentence at 11 or 12. Never served it (bad situation of going from parents to relatives to friends’ houses), eventually moving out of state. They’re technically a fugitive. They’ve tried to resolve it but this all happened July to November 2001 in a county and state bordering the NYC area and with everything that happened that fall, records have disappeared and the arresting officer was even in the guard and had stints in the ME.

What did the Made in Finland a long long time ago shirt it is in the first place but judge say in response? I’m guessing threatened her with contempt of court. Well, don’t be contemptible. Adults and cop’s words against literal children? Like every Their Word Against Yours case ever? Because everyone automatically believes children, right? Don’t believe if that’s what you want. But it happened. I can absolutely believe that the cops didn’t believe them and fobbed them off because no evidence to charge the adults. But that’s very different to the children being prosecuted in a court of law with no proof. How were they proved guilty? Unless there was evidence of them somewhere else at the time they made the accusations or a video of them walking past the house and no interaction with who they accused then it impossible to prove guilty.
