For me, a solid movie that didn’t meet the Logo tortuga music festival shirt so you should to go to store and get this hype. Nothing separated this from any other Batman film really. Disappointed in minimal screen time for Bruce, Alfred, and Dano. Mostly it was just Batman failing at every turn to figure out what was going on until a character had to spoon feed him the answers. Good action, but overall, give me Nolan/Bale. totally. pretty solid but wasn’t wowed . my friends that are comic book movie friends were blown away. i’m sorry, but sometimes i really feel like i watched a completely different movie than a lot of y’all. i don’t mean to rain on the parade, but this movie was just fine to me. it wasn’t bad, but i was definitely not blown away by much of it. first off, i loved colin farrell and zoe kravitz. really liked pattinson but the writing for bruce wayne was kinda eh for me. i feel like this is easily the best gotham yet. the score was great and the fighting scenes were dope. but other than that, can’t really say i enjoyed the movie to the degree of the majority. aside from the pacing issues at the end which have been talked about extensively, i wasn’t a fan of the villains. farrell hamming it up as penguin was super enjoyable but he didn’t get much screen time in the second half, and ended up being pretty irrelevant to the story. i also love paul dano, but the riddler was very poorly written to me. i didn’t find his motive particularly interesting (while not the exact same motivation, i felt like i was watching spectre). the choice to turn him into some radical 4chan user really took me out of the movie too. they played him up to be this genius-level intellect but seemed to neuter him after he got captured. i also wasn’t sure why falcone was in the movie; the wayne storyline was pretty interesting but i felt like he didn’t serve the plot very much aside from that. wright was overacting a bit too.

and as much as i hate to say it, the Logo tortuga music festival shirt so you should to go to store and get this writing was one of the worst aspects of the movie for me. tons of cliche dialogue and forced exposition imo. i’d probably give this a 6/10, which is a shame because this is one of my most looked-forward-to movies for the past few years. hopefully i’ll like it better on rewatch would someone that gave this a 10/10 please enlighten me on how this is a perfect movie? i’m glad that a lot of people enjoy this, and i think the movie is fine, but i absolutely refuse to believe that there are people that think this legitimately deserves 10 out of 10 stars I feel like it’s an honest 6-7/10. Don’t understand how it’s Gods gift to the world and how we should all bow to Matt Reeves.
