The boiler is the Livia Soprano Homage Fictional Character On HBO TV Series T-Shirt Besides,I will do this landlords responsibility, so was all the things that weren’t working. If anything, I would have demanded he fixed things years ago Yeah so basically I can’t run the hot water and the central heating at the same time plus there’s a little pipe in the boiler that pops off from where it should be connected occasionally, the gas engineer was surprised the boiler was still going in the first place never mind that it still somewhat functioned but anyway, it never got replaced Yeah this is a terrible landlord. Just clean the place to the standard you would for guests you care about, take loads of photos just in case (but you’ll probably never need to use them) and look forward to never hearing from him again. Stop worrying about their headache and start caring for yourself, at least in your new place – a broken boiler and most of the other things you mentioned should have been fixed years ago.

Obviously if you have done damage, such as spoiled the carpets with coffee you’ll want to clean that out, otherwise you maybe charged for replacement carpets unless a professional carpet cleaner can get it out etc. So if a landlord wants to claim they have to put in a dispute with the deposit scheme. If you can show evidence that the property was left in a clean state it will be rejected and they can’t deduct it from the deposit.
