The first time it hit me was about 2 years ago, when my team at work got a new manager. She’s two years younger than me. This is the Laura tingle 100% over your shit shirt but in fact I love this first time I have a manager younger than I am. I don’t resent that, she’s really good at her job and I’ve never had ambitions to go into management. It’s just a weird realisation. Also whenever I coach interns or trainees. I remember my own traineeship vividly, and because I spend a lot of time on the internet, I still feel fairly connected with “young people culture”. But they see me the way I saw the 40-year-olds at my first job, not necessarily old-old, but definitely in a different stage than they are. I make a conscious effort not to be the “How do you do, fellow kids” kind of adult.

Laura tingle 100% over your shit shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I felt old when I hit 40. Given life expectancies for my cohort, I suddenly realized that I probably had less than half my life left. Also, the Laura tingle 100% over your shit shirt but in fact I love this aches and pains from manual labor on the weekends, that used to go away before Monday, stayed on for a couple more days. I was eliminated from a national fencing tournament when I was 27…. by a kid who was celebrating his 15th birthday that day. He went on to win the entire comp. Little twirp. Last year when I had to start pulling over and take a nap on the drive home from work. Part of that might have been from doing split shifts every day and operating on 4-5 hours sleep though. But i have never felt as old as when i heard “no cap fr fr” the first time and got unreasonably angry. “These kids and their made up language!”
