I swear to god – when I was about 3, my grandmother opened an orange and there was a fat spider in the King Of The Sip shirt but in fact I love this middle. I refused to eat anything orange-shaped for years, but absolutely nobody believed me We went on a national park drive in bear country in America. It was basically a one way route through a National park that you drive…to avoid walking. Being brits we were terrified of meeting a bear on a walking trail so we opted for the nice scenic driving route. About half way round we came to some traffic, which was unusual seeing as we hadn’t seen any other cars. Loads of cars were pulled over to the side and people were getting out of their cars. Everyone was standing around the base of this tree about 300 feet away from their cars with camera and pointing. We all thought it was a bit odd so drove round the cars. I looked at the tree again and saw a BABY BEAR in the highest branches. All these idiots were stood around the base of the tree pointing while this cub was desperate to get higher. Before coming to bear country we’d read on what to do if you encountered a bear. If a cub was seen it a tree the advice was to absolutely not get close to the tree and move away as quickly as possible. The mother bear puts the cub in the tree for safety while it goes off to do adult bear things.

That mother bear was probably hiding in a bush deciding while tourist to tackle first. I told my parents but we’d already around the King Of The Sip shirt but in fact I love this corner so they couldn’t see the tree. To this day they still don’t believe that I saw a cub and that everyone was just taking a picture of a really nice tree I opened a bin at my grans bit and heard a shrill laugh come out of it. My mate who was there heard it too but no one has ever believed us in 20 years. We still talk about it in hushed voices from time to time. In 1991 I was 10 years old, my family and I went to bangladesh to visit family. We own acres and acres of rice paddies and land. I was walking on my own along a river bank round the back of one of our homes when I heard something behind me. I stopped and looked back. I saw nothing. I continued walking and I heard rustling behind me. I slowly turned and looked around. Then suddenly I saw it, a massive monitor lizard. I froze for a few seconds then turned and ran and ran and ran and ran until I got inside my house. I will never forget that day, no one believed me whee we i told them. The telly went to grey static for new seconds, then on came footage of some demonic looking old man with evil eyes. I don’t think he said anything, just stared and breathed for a while, then grey static again and back to whatever it was I was watching.
