Only thing that jumped out to me about 3 was that if you have 4 Corners in mind…. DON’T. however, Monument Valley can be stunning if done right. I did that almost EXACT #2 route a few years ago – Boston to DC to Nashville to Tulsa to Santa Fe to Flagstaff/Sedona to San Diego. It was a great trip! We mostly chose that direction because we had friends in DC and family in OK. I had never seen the King Gizzard The Lizard Wizard T-Shirt In addition,I will do this American southwest or deserts of any kind so for me it was really exciting. I will say I was very fatigued by the landscapes of the second half of okalahoma, Texas, and part of New Mexico. No desire to ever revisit that part of the country – depressing and flat and colorless. It was very worth it to see Sedona though!

If you have the King Gizzard The Lizard Wizard T-Shirt In addition,I will do this time and money, set your GPS avoid the interstates. Way better experience scenery wise. Of course if time and money are not an issue. I drove from South Lake Tahoe to Cleveland in October. I used the app Waze and left on a Monday morning at 7:30 and arrived at 3am Wednesday morning. It routed me to I-80 ( most direct route). It gets a bit diverting at Chicago… Only slept about 4 hours at the Nebraska welcome center (most desolate center I think in the US) then straight through… Green Route is awesome. Part of that is of course Yellowstone, but west of that is cool too. In Idaho I might swing north out of the Snake River valley and see Craters of the Moon Natl Monument. Actually looking at your map maybe you are going through the mountains, which I’ve only heard good things about. Then in Oregon I’d slightly detour to Steens Mountain. If not that, stop below it in the Alvord Desert, but in august maybe not… Steens Mountain is crazy – it’s a block of rock that’s not sitting at 45 degrees, so the west slope is low and sloping and the east slope just falls down to the desert. Malheur National Wildlife Refuge is really cool too.
