We did long distance for a year before moving in together. We were dorm mates first year, so I guess I paid for one? As most do, you pay for first year dorm for the university experience. You make friends in similar programs, study together, live together, and it works. You just have to be sociable (hard when you’re trying to actually study). My next u iversiry program I met my wife. I was a bit older than her, and wasn’t particularly interested in entering another relationship. We studied together, I like snuggles, I don’t like walking back home in the cold after 2 am study, I slept over a bunch, cuddles were good. We did well first semester with regular studying (her place and mine), then she initiated on me and that’s it. As an adult, I have not left her and we work well together by setting clear goals and communicating well.
