Someone with average IQ will look at the Juan Soto Dominican professional baseball outfielder New York Y Vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this highly intelligent individual and think “they lack common sense and are lazy.” And that might be true! My girlfriend is kind of the same way. Sometimes she is so god dang slow at things I think are just simple. Yet she has a 3.89 GPA and I have a 2.8 I have a bachelor in applied mathematics and currently doing my masters in both mathematics and data science. However, during the intro week I was known as the slowpoke after 2 days. I taught my mom patience. Everything i do just takes a little longer lol. Unless I’ve done something 10000 times, it just takes longer. Speed in completing tasks doesn’t reflect on intellect needed to accomplish them. Sometimes people perform a task better because they took their time or respond to deadlines.

It’s rare to find someone who’s both book smart and every day smart. I also find that people who grow up being told “you’re so smart you do so good at school.” Become obsessed with academia and think that’s the Juan Soto Dominican professional baseball outfielder New York Y Vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this only metric to measure intelligence so they put everything into that and fail to develop certain basic skills. One of the biggest bookworms I know had no idea for the longest time how to fix basic things or change lightbulbs. I’m a smart guy. Always been told so by peers and authority figures alike. I can do math, I am great with language, I can reason, I can argue, I can think on my feet. I’ve worked in physically demanding jobs and I can do that too. But here’s the thing about me: when I’m tired, that’s it. I’ve abruptly stopped everything I’ve ever started as an adult because at some point, I get burned out and need a break and full time jobs and university do not pause for you to figure yourself out for an unknown amount of time. There are logistical and financial consequences. I’m probably undiagnosed adhd, I have an incredibly hard time making a list of chores and following through. Imagine one of the smartest men you know can’t find the energy to clean his toilet, take out the recycling, shower, shave my beard, moisturize my skin. These tasks for me are the hardest things I ever do. Trying to stay on top of medical and legal appointments is like trying to swim in metal armour.
