You are generally expected not to damage the Juan Gonzalez Player Puerto Rican Baseball MLB 45 – 50 (1998) T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this property but there is allowance for fair wear and tear. Carpets will not in the condition they were in when you got there, obviously. Luckily no, when I moved in he didn’t want some of the furniture so I bought it off him for the same amount as a months rent would be so he didn’t want a bond as it saves him the headache of moving the things he didn’t want to move, plus the first two years I had no access to the garage as it was full of the landlords property. Thank you I was having an absolute panic attack thinking I’d have to replace everything before I left while trying to save for a new rent and bond. I hope you retained any communications about that furniture purchase too, it’s yours you get to take it with you, but after 12 years they may not remember. Unfortunately not but tbh I’ve been gifted a lovely new sofa and my new house has all the other bits I bought off the landlord already in the house so do you think I should leave the sofa, fridge/freezer, table and chairs? I can’t leave the sideboard as I got a new one a couple of years ago

Please take pictures on move out. You need evidence of the Juan Gonzalez Player Puerto Rican Baseball MLB 45 – 50 (1998) T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this state of the property when you left. Ideally youd compare it to the move in check. Like any debt, the matter can be pursued in civil court. The same would happen if there were a deposit but the bill exceeded the deposit amount, the tenant could get sued for the excess. If it’s 12 years most wont accept due to fire issues and regulsrions (as we found out adter a 7 year old settee was rejectrd). Sold it on FB instead Aye, they can even be sticklers for the fire resistant labels being intact. I suppose my point is if you bought it all off the landlord don’t leave anything behind. Definitely take everything that you own. You can always sell it cheap to help with bond in a new place if needed As others have said, take anything that you purchased off the landlord. I’d be concerned he would try and charge you for the disposal of these items if you left them. If you don’t want them then try and donate them to charity or sell on facebook marketplace. The only option he has is to go all the way to small claims court. But there he would have to prove that you purposefully caused the damage. After 12 years? Good luck getting anything. Basically the entire house is expected to be replaced at this point
