If you are jealous of your friends ability to be comfortable not wearing makeup, maybe learning to be comfortable being bare faced is something you should work on. Makeup is an art, and a form of expression, and a security blanket for many, but it doesn’t have to be a mask you hide behind if you don’t want it to be.

I love makeup, but I feel more and more like I can’t go out without it. I rely on it heavily for my confidence. A few years ago, I went a year without wearing it to school and found it absolutely miserable. I once cried in math class because of how ugly I felt !! I want to try again though, this time as an adult and in a less extreme way. Maybe I’ll have more luck. I can relate to you so much! So I’m 25 now. And doing so much better with this issue. I used to be the girl who literally had a full face on of makeup from freshman – senior year. I even went to cosmetology school in high-school. I remember the ONE DAY I didn’t wear makeup to school, and my “friend” told me I should have worn makeup that day (I didn’t wear it because we were going to do facials). She never wore makeup and always asked me to do it on her. It embarrassed me and made me so angry for her to say that in front of everyone.
