I’ve had a world of abuse since then and ptsd to recover from from being raised by her and the consequences of not being prepared or properly intentioned to raise children. She told me she thought I’d save her time and time again. Only. Have. Kids. If. You. Are. Mentally. And. Physically. Well. I’ll die on this hill. I will never drink too much alcohol that I’m not able to drive my child to their friend’s house after school, activities or pick them up. My dad changed his ways first of all and he wasn’t malicious. He was also a victim of abuse. It’s no excuse, but he did better himself.

I know for a fact that some of my worst physical problems stem from the abuse I received as a child. The kicks up the backside really did a number on my hips and spine I am not trying to clear my fathers name. He mentally and physically abused me to the point that I am living in pain 24/7 and have been since a young age. The physical abuse stoped, but the mental abuse continued well into my late teens He was a victim of abuse much much worse than me and his father was not just abused but right out tortured. But him abusing me was his choice. Just like it was my choice to slap my toddlers on the hands too hard (at all really). Like it was my choice to hit my 4 y/o daughter over the head. I did it once exactly. It was a common thing then, to smack a kid upside the head. But I have felt guilty ever since, rightfully so. It was my choice to do that and it was my choice to stop it. To never ever do it again. I still feel horrible thinking back on that. And I was pressured by everyone saying that’s a normal thing to do and you should do it. But it was my choice, I did that. I smacked her and it was so awful. No matter what anyone said I knew it was wrong right away
