It is the Jim you’re 6 11 gumby has a better body than you boom roasted Shirt and I love this cultural conditioning you’re right. Our culture is a self serving culture of capitalism. I’m not sure how easy it will be to unlearn this conditioning because in order to survive, you have to live and behave this way in any job that you find within the United States. When you get home however, you can use that time to relax. Constantly looking for distractions like using your phone incessantly or talking to people constantly without being quiet, these habits contribute to your “move fast” mentality. Give yourself some space to do nothing and when you’re washing the dishes, dont put on music or news or anything. Just be quiet with the dishes. Same for any activity. Be with it in the present. For me, I like to think of it as ‘wanting to get to rest’. Like, “I need to finish this (learn this etc) then I can rest.” Then I remind myself, “you can rest any time you want.” And that takes that pressure off instantly for me.

Maybe it is your voice. My brother’s voice and speech mannerisms have a kind of theatrical gay vibe. But he is not gay. This would be my guess. It’s unfair but straight men who have stereotypically Millennial/ Gen Z female verbal tics (vocal fry, ending every sentence like it’s a question, etc.) can sometimes give off gay vibes. I was going to mention vocal fry too. It’s generally not something you even realize you’re doing until you’re made aware of it. It’s definitely perceived as feminine by a lot of people. Linguist fact. Young women (especially upper middle-class) often drive linguistic shifts; the Jim you’re 6 11 gumby has a better body than you boom roasted Shirt and I love this way you hear young women speak today is very likely to be the way everyone will speak in a few generations.
