I wouldn’t attempt any form of note – being that polite I’d have dropped her a case of wine/beer saying welcome and enjoy on us….. When I told my neighbours (an old couple with mobility issues, probably in their late eighties) I was going to have a party and apologised ahead of time in case it was a bit loud they told me “Oh don’t worry about that, parties are supposed to be loud!”. They were the best neighbours I’ve ever had. Nah the only issue here is that the Christmas blanket is still out in late February. She was super nice about it. Be thankful and send a Ty text tomorrow. Super kind. Wow, you’re so lucky! I’d maybe get them a ‘belated house-warming’ bottle of something and attach a welcome message. I have had a succession of nice, new N-D-N and the last 3 have all been better than the previous ones. This latest family are just awesome! I lent them two sheep to help mow their orchard down and I can’t wait to see the plans they have to reclaim it. I just told them I how wonderful I think they are. If you have a 7 week old, and you hear jangling and chatting, you can be sure they hear your baby. If you want to be funny, write a note from the baby explaining that you can survive one night with a party if they’re surviving 7 week old baby cries. I’d also leave them a bottle of wine to enjoy at their party. Sounds like a great neighbourly relationship!
