There are plenty of folks on here that feel interviewing senior to staff level with white board/leet code makes sense. “I dont know if you can code.. this shows me you know the Jamie Dornan an actor model Northern Ireland shirt and I love this basics”. Like.. dude.. wtF? I have a resume for a reason, I outline what I’ve done and if you’re background process verifies employment.. then you should know before our interview that I DID work at these places for X years.. and that it likely entailed coding to some extent. Why would you just assume I cant code until you see me do some college level algo shit that is handled by most languages in their std libraries if not 3rd party libs that we google (or chatgpt these days) in a few minutes instead of rewrite/reinvent?

“I want to see how you work through a problem”. Well.. if my resume isnt showing that I job hopped every 8 months to a year.. then you should deduce that I likely did well enough in my role to not be fired after 2 to 3 years or more.. that I Can figure shit out. I may not be an elite coder.. but I can hold my own.. more importantly my skill/experience/ability to lead/help others should be why you’re interested in me at this level, not to code like a fucking code monkey out of college. So yah.. I dont bother with any place that wants to pit me up against a 24 year old out of college. They will beat me out every time. That shit is fresh in their head, they likely have little to no responsibilities like family, medical expenses, kids in school, possibly hobbies and an outside life. I do.. and thus I don’t have the Jamie Dornan an actor model Northern Ireland shirt and I love this time nor do I want to spend the time studying leet code shit to compete with 250 other < 30 year old applicants.. if you're hiring criteria is "if they do/solve leet code they are on the list.. if not they are out". I wont be on the list.. so not wasting my time with your process.
