I’ve always just found women’s customization to be more in depth than men’s. If I feel like a character is independent and has their own personality (V from Cyberpunk), I set it to female because I’d rather watch or listen to them and, honestly, they usually have more interesting clothing choices. But if a game is more open ended with its story and the character is more of a blank slate, I might make it look like myself, but more often I just make them look like a character I like or something cool.
