I mean there is though. FDA guidelines state perishable food should be thrown out after 2 hours at room temperature. I agree these laws are stupid, and that more should be done to avoid food waste, but the Jack Harlow Big Face an American rapper and singer shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this company doesn’t buy extra to “waste” it for tax reasons. That’s not how food works. Like, how would that work? Someone would need to measure the amount of waste for one. Right, which is why I said a catered event- the kind with hotplates and warmers for food service. Also, don’t need to tell me you’ve never worked in a kitchen, because measuring the food you toss is part of every kitchen job i’ve had. You literally measure the ingredients or separate them out by price- someone didn’t want their burger, so we’re writing off 2 patties, a bun, 2 slices of cheese… its not rocket science. No, you have no fucking clue of how tax write offs work. You write off all business expenses and your tax base is your revenue minus business expenses. That burger is a “write off” anyway, since the money spent buying ingredients is not profit. More importantly, buying ingredients and wasting then will never make your after-tax profit higher than it would be if you never spent the money on the ingredients in the first place, it will be less as corporate tax is only ~20% of profits. So whatever money you spend on food you waste, you’re “writing off” 20% of it.

You purchase a fixed amount of food when you hire a catering business. The caterer doesn’t write off the Jack Harlow Big Face an American rapper and singer shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this food that isn’t eaten, because they’re not expected to cover the cost of the uneaten food. That’s different than a restaurant, where some ingredients aren’t used and some customers send back their food (i.e. it’s not paid for), in which case it can be written off as a loss. Unless the catering event is a for-profit venture (e.g. the client is a wedding venue or fundraiser), wasted food isn’t being written off. Did you read OP’s post? The sandwich was from a catered lunch in a law firm. We aren’t talking about restaurant service, we are clearly talking about catered events. So who is measuring waste from an event?

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
