A lot of parents tell their kids they can’t leave the It’s Not Easy Being My Wife’s Arm Candy but here i am nailin T-Shirt and I love this table unless they finish all their food. Or something of the sort (you can’t go outside, you can’t watch TV, you have to go to bed early etc.) Effectively forcing the kid to sit there and struggle to eat food they don’t enjoy (until they get better at secretly disposing of the food) My mum wouldn’t let me leave the table until I ate everything, even foods that made me gag. (I have very serious food texture issues, even to this day, at 29). I’d sit at the table until it was time for bed. Yup – but it took me YEARS to figure that out. Like, I didn’t clue in until I was 40 (even though I went non contact when I was 18 but that was mostly because he was trying to force his religion on me which is a different story).

Yeah I think if my parents got anything right, it’s how they fed me. They pretty much just left it up to me. They told me “This is the It’s Not Easy Being My Wife’s Arm Candy but here i am nailin T-Shirt and I love this food we have, we’re not going to buy more food cause you don’t like it or you don’t finish it. You either eat it or you starve, your choice.” To this day I’m still the least picky eater out of everyone I know, I would literally eat anything as long as its human food. My parents never won at making me wait until I finished my food because I would just out wait them. So then they used to put the food in a blender and force feed it to me; usually ended with me throwing up. Then if I threw up I’d get beaten for throwing up. Really envious of how many people in here are saying it’s abuse so they must’ve just had normal parents. Life is just really unfair I remember once having to sit at the table until bedtime – staring at the mashed potatoes I refused to eat. Fine with me. My imagination entertained me until bedtime. No worries. Mom was pissed I didn’t cry or make a scene. No mashed potatoes for me after that. Win/win!
