I’m not aware of any schools that start this late in America. Pretty sure I wanted to miss every day after my first week of kindergarten. School sucked, from boredom to bullying to mean teachers to bad teachers to underfunded classrooms and underfunded activities to school shootings and crappy small school lunches. There was never much that made me want to attend school. Then I went on to college and it continued sucking and now I’ve got a good career making good money and I still don’t want to wake up for work everyday. But if some work landed on my desk that was this passive aggressive I’d look forward to speaking to HR about it.

So relateable though. Every year I would use up all my absent days and then some more. ADHD as a kid sucks even more. I was diagnosed with ADHD, and class made me completely and totally bored. It’s not that I didn’t know the subjects, because I did, but trying to get my attention? Yeah, that wasn’t happening. Eh maybe, never been tested or looked that hard into it. I always did very well in school. Ive always been very capable of applying myself. I think I have exceptional time management skills although I procrastinate more than anyone I’ve ever met. I can typically focus and even hyper focus on things at will. I never wanted to but I was driven to by the fear of letting myself down for the bulk of my youth. At least until I was a senior in highschool when I realized I didn’t need to apply myself that much. From that point forward I pretty much just do the bare minimum. Ive spent the last decade of my life now figuring out what the bare minimum is to me and how lazy can I be without failing myself. Idk if this is all signed of ADHD or just signs of being lazy but it’s who I am.
