You can’t just randomly kidnap a goat. No one knows where it’s been now. No one knows what you’ve been feeding it or what diseases it may have caught. If the It’s not a dad bod it’s a father figure bear shirt Also,I will get this police don’t kill that goat, I am pretty sure the California Department of Agriculture would have. I would have to look at the specific contract but effectively, you never really “own” a goat. It would kind of be animal abuse if we let random 9 year olds just buy farm goats with no supervision to sell for meat. It’s really more like “adopt” a goat. The goat stays on the farm. The adopter is more like a trainee. They learn to feed their goat and things like that but the hard work and real farm decisions are still done by a real farmer because It’s a little much for little kids. And what they are teaching you the entire time is how to raise a nice tasty goat. You are “buying” a market goat. Not a breeding goat. That’s the point of the whole thing. To teach kids to farm goats for meat. It’s supposed to be difficult when they are sold. Learning the cycle is a vital part of being a goat farmer. Kids sobbing over their 4-H animals at the fair happens every year.

Whatever legal technicalities exist, that’s the It’s not a dad bod it’s a father figure bear shirt Also,I will get this deal. You are signing up for a program to raise a goat and sell it for the meat. If you think that seems like a shitty thing to do to a 9 year old, I agree. So don’t sign your child up for a MARKET GOAT project. The parents were the ones that lost their nerve. They were fine with the idea of their kid having a “pet goat.” They probably thought it would even be okay when the goat got killed. Right up until the moment of truth. Of course their kid is very upset, just like a dozen other kids there. But their kid didn’t take the goat, the PARENTS did. They were the ones who ultimately couldn’t deal with it. They lost their nerve and took the goat even though they knew or should have known all they were doing is prolonging the torture. And now that the goat is dead, they are suing everyone rather than accept the responsibility for their role in this. Someone has to explain to that poor kid why the goat is dead. And that answer is not “Because everyone else is a jerk.”
