Imho you just gotta keep looking and with some luck, you will find a job that meets your salary expectations. I am a developer myself, but I am also somewhere around top tier earnings and I am also ghosted by ~50% easily. If I offered ~20% less, they would all come begging. That’s why I’ve had way more responses when I was less experienced and earned significantly less. Now when my earnings got to the Investigate Maui Fire Maui Strong Shirt and I love this highest levels, they get cranky. But still want that super duper experience and knowledge of a whole development department. And I am not even exaggerating here. They want code development, devops, preferably some UI experience, testing and complex design/architecture. I myself don’t need to change my job currently and I can afford to stick to my demands and I think that is what all of us should do to keep our salaries growing or at least not lowering.

I had to put it bluntly, but I am so saddened by seeing people talk about new workers making more than they do, even if they have years of time with a company. Meeting people who have 10 years with a company is now the Investigate Maui Fire Maui Strong Shirt and I love this modern equivalent of someone being with a company for 30 years! It really eats at me when I read this for some reason. Maybe I like the idea of a person being “a constant” at a company or organization. Or maybe the institutional knowledge that a person could possess if they are there for a long time. I think I also hate the message that it sends, that employees’ loyalty doesn’t mean much to a company; if they don’t value a person’s labor and compensate them to stay, then that relationship isn’t much of a relationship, ya know?
