My husband and I have been married 11 years and have wonderful friendships with lots of other people! Gender being a non factor. We do stuff apart and in any combination of those friends just depending on who wants to do what and if we have childcare LOL. We even split hotel rooms to save $$ with whomever. It’s a trillion percent a non issue and we’re both so grateful for our wonderful friends. Well tons of people are in toxic relationships and most people don’t have their shit together. I get it, life is rough. Dating is rough, bit it’s rougher when you’re in denial about your flaws which I’m sure most of the I’m The Fedex Elf 2023 Christmas shirt so you should to go to store and get this people who downvoted me are. 9 years with my partner and it has never occurred to either of us to be suspicious or upset about any of our friendships. My two best friends are men. His best friend is a woman. One of my besties moved to another city that’s a several hours drive or a quick flight away. When I decided to grab a cheap flight to go visit him for a weekend my partner was just happy I got to go see my bestie. I can’t imagine being in a relationship with someone who would be upset about me visiting my friend and staying at his apartment. Yeah 14 years here and these people seem bizarre and incredibly isolated imo. If it works for them longterm that’s great…but to me it appears we may be the only ones in thread who managed to marry adults, lmao. I wouldn’t be with someone who would want to go out with other men. I’d never consider hanging out with other women. It’s disrespectful. Acquaintances are one thing, if you know them in a public setting, but I’d never tell my gf “hey, babe. I’m going to go spend time with another woman.” Not gonna happen.
