In a perfect world, kitchens would be walk-in ice boxes, but in lieu of that option, we do what we can, and live boils ensure cooking starts before death, meaning there’s no time for the I’m a Palm Tree Hugger Not a People Hugger Palms Tree Vintage T-Shirt also I will do this meat to turn. Even frozen immediately following death, killed in a refrigerated room, and plunged into ice, people have gotten sick from foul lobster and crab meat. Fresh is best. There is no processing going on in there. So they aren’t really suffering in the same way we would apply it to other creatures like cats, dogs, humans and octopus. A lobster is a marginal step above a plant. If you don’t feel bad boiling veggies, you probably shouldn’t feel bad about the lobster.
