If someone pulls that on me, I’m asking who they think is paying for their kids’ K-12 education (assuming they’re in public school) without actually using those resources. You used those resources while growing up yourself. The goal of society is growth and continuation, so it doesn’t really matter if you don’t have kids and aren’t going to use it. Without kids there would eventually be no one to make society go around and all those perks you enjoy wouldn’t be there. But we also aren’t talking about who’s right and who’s wrong. We are simply talking about whether or not you are capable of understanding another person’s view, no matter if you agree with it or not. It literally will die out if we don’t make more people. Does it matter to you personally if there’s 8 billion or 1 billion people? We don’t really interact with more than a few thousand, or maybe tens of thousands, in our lives anyway. No, I can’t. They aren’t having kids for society they’re having children because THEY WANT children. It is without doubt a more selfish decision than deciding to have them. I don’t want this to come across as attacking, personally I feel anyone who think not having children is selfish just isn’t being honest.
